Monday 15th January - walk *** – Around Ipswich – sunny, breezy and cold.

As Mag had to have a cataract down today in Ipswich, her second to be done, the first was 15 years ago! We had to be in Ipswich at 8.15 so with a frost forecast we put an old towel on our van windscreen which made our early start easy. We drove to Ipswich in wall to wall sunshine but with a good westerly blowing it was pretty cold and we got a glimpse of the sun rising as we crossed the Orwell Bridge:) Mag was first to be seen so I left her to it and walked to the waterfront as it procedure was supposed to take an hour and a half I thought I had loads of time to take a few weather pics and look for a little something to give Mag after the operation:) I followed the River Gipping all the way to Stoke bridge well wrapped up against the cold but it was lovely in the winter sunshine. I got some nice pics of Ipswich waterfront before heading up into the town centre and managed to find Mag something nice in the Fatface shop but boy do I hate shopping, isn’t that whats the internet is for! Then all I had to do was walk the two miles back, so back to the waterfront and I followed the same route back. I found mag in the waiting room chatting to loads of pensioners having the same operation, she had been waiting for ages and thought I had fallen into the river! In fact the operation only took a few minutes and she was free to go after only half an hour, no eye patch either, just amazing! We then drive the scenic route back via Levington for our second breakfast. Then Jay brings the lovely Maeav around to brighten Mags day, she was a complete star:)
